This may be the third time I've apologized for not blogging enough, but I'm going to do it again; I'm so sorry! AND I had a really cool outfit post planned but a *certain someone* is apparently having issues uploading my photos. So until I get access to those I am unable to construct all these plans.
But anyway, back to the post.
1. Ethnic Prints
Now, I don't know if it's PC to say "ethnic" prints, actually I'm pretty sure it's not but I can't think of an all-encompassing word to include Scandinavian, Navajo-an, African, etc. prints. (If you know of one, let me know.) Regardless, I love them right now and if that damn A&F sweater wasn't $160, I'd buy it right now.
BB Dakota Wray Coat, $108.00
"Sally" cardigan, $160.00 & "Julie" sweater, $200.00
both Abercrombie & Fitch
2. Harnesses
I love anything that can be as equally dainty as it is edgy. These harnesses look great over tanks and tees, so they can still work for fall. I'd love to try the first look under a boyfriend blazer, something unexpected, perhaps with a white tee instead.
Bliss Lau "Diamond Dress" harness, $327.00 (was $653.00)
Bliss Lau "Ponytail Top" harness, $259.00
3. Fresh Faces & Flyaway Hair
Perhaps it's because due to my being consistently broke that I've let my highlights and bangs grow out that I am attracted to this look. I really like center parts right now, that "wash n' go" look that isn't overly styled with a shit-ton of product. In fact, I think what really draws me to this is the clean, fresh makeup (hellooooo gorgeous skin!) juxtaposed with the dirty, "haven't shampooed in a few days" hair. Effortless without looking gross and lazy.
Anna de Rijk & Abbey Lee in the best runway of all Spring 2010 RTW
Burberry Prorsum. (I think we can all agree on this.)
4. Exposed Zippers
Particularly if they are contrasting with the fabric. I recently bought this shirt from Urban Outfitters, and now I'm hooked. Or, zipped. No wait, that doesn't make sense...
Dark Harts sweater blazer, $68.00
5. Cross-body bags
I'm starting to grow tired of 2 of my accessory staples: obscenely large and slouchy handbags that are black. I still love black (anything) BUT I'm starting to experiment more with mixing black with brown or navy. Or even white and cream. And something just clicked in my head that turned me on to cross-body bags with longer chains or straps than the short handled satchels that I usually require. And I love these bags because they are cheap but still look expensive and slightly resemble the classic Chanel bags that I covet...
Quilted tab cross-body bags, $50.00
in dark purple and cream, available at Topshop
Harness is in trend now, yeah. Nice!
