One half of the iconic Swedish electro-pop duo The Knife, Karin Dreijer Andersson's solo effort Fever Ray is nothing short of spectacular. An acquired taste, sure, but I am urging you to check her out. "Her vocal style is notable for both shrill and deep, distorted tones combined with her distinctive accent and the use of pitch-shifting" (thanks wikipedia!)
Oh and these photos look like they could be in an avant garde fashion spread. Totally eerie and haunting and beautiful.
The mystical vibe is FABULOUS!!

I'm a big fan of Fever Ray and Concrete Walls is a haunting piece. I love the way she plays with voice distortion. The first time I saw these pictures they scared me. :)

ReplyDeleteThe pictures are eerie indeed but I really like the first&fifth one, they show the beautiful markings on her face best.
