Hussy

But honey how can you suppose
that anybody knows
you're not a hussy anymore?

Except a hussy wouldn't wear this. Or maybe she would, I don't know. I don't judge.
I just like this song. And this flowy, floral tunic.

Staring at Stars floral tunic; $64.00

Oxford

Minimarket Lace-Up Cutout Oxford; $250.00

A sneak peek at one of Urban Outfitter's featured shoes for summer. Do I even need to tell you how much I love this shoe? I have not caved and purchased a pair of oxfords yet, but I think I need to. Those fucking Swedes know how to do this trend right.

Utility jacket + LWD

Who What Wear styling tip #2: "Transition a LWD with an army jacket."

Okay, pretty basic common knowledge. White lace dress plus army-style jacket, I got it. Now I'm good for summer.

All sarcasm aside, this is a great look. I love white for spring and summer, contrasting against bronze skin, and a lightweight utilitarian jacket is the perfect cover-up for chilly nights. WWW used Kate Bosworth's Nylon cover party ensemble as an example, and I think it looks awesome. Except for one thing... those fucking boots. I guess maybe this was okay for the specific event, but definitely not for everyday. I personally would style this look with sandals, wedges, or even classic tennis whites. Perhaps the boots wouldn't be so bad if they weren't so pointy. If you must go with boots, go for biker or combat style boots, à la Doc Martins or something. Keeps up with the utilitarian theme...

Spring 2010? Are we there yet?

In the words of my friend and fellow Kent Stater, "Spring semester?! That's a lie!"

I hate winter. Actually, that is a bit of an understatement. Winter makes me physically ill. But, thanks to email subscriptions to various retailers and Notcouture, I can look forward to warmer months in the warmth and comfort of my own apartment.

Spring 2010

Clockwise from top left:
1. Digby & Iona Stump ring; $210.00- I recently showed this to my boyfriend and he actually liked it. You can even get initials "carved" into it. Now to just drop enough hints before Valentine's Day...

2. Balmain Cotton-canvas studded military blazer; $6,225.00- Words cannot even begin to describe my love for this jacket. It has everything going for it- studs, patches, and I love the dark hunter green, such a great alternative to black.

3. AE cross-strap sandals; $29.50- I love these sandals because they are casual, but more sophisticated and easier to dress-up than flip-flops. They also come in a lovely pale aqua color, but I think I'll go for basic brown.

4. Sephora Brand "I Love Sephora" brush set; $29.00- I am in dire need of new makeup brushes, so I think the email sent to me by Sephora today was a sign. Plus I love the pink color, perfect for Spring! The best part? This is a $120.00 value!!

5. Cooperative Neon poplin frock; $58.00- As soon as the weather starts remotely warming up, I'm drawn to dresses. I love the cute floral print on this dress, and it would look great with the AE sandals =)

6. Deux Lux basketweave satchel; $58.00- I promised myself at the end of last year that this spring/summer I was GOING to buy a green tea hued handbag!

Can you tell I'm ready for summer?

It's a little too late to be making Christmas wish lists... or is it? Regardless, I love all of these items. And they are all reasonably priced. The coral cuff looks so edgy but classy, I love the sandals but can't really decide if I like them better in black or ivory, and who doesn't need a sheer pocket tee? OR a cute lip-gloss locket pin?!

I think the only thing I'd ACTUALLY put on my Christmas wish list would be Robin Finck. This photo is my background on my macbook. Can I get a "yum," please? Kthnxxx
